GoodBau · Privacy

Your enquiry.
Your data.

Here you can find out which details are used for a contact enquiry, how email delivery works and what rights you have.

01 · Who is responsible?

Good Bau GmbH
Zimmermanngasse 8
1090 Vienna, Austria
gdpr@goodbau.org
+43 664 914 27 03

Please use these contact details if you have questions about the processing of your enquiry or wish to exercise your data protection rights.

02 · How your enquiry works

The form sends your details to GoodBau. When you click “Send enquiry”, your entries are sent to the web server, checked and forwarded by email to info@goodbau.org.

You do not need your own email application. The website indicates whether the mail server has accepted the enquiry for sending. This confirmation does not guarantee delivery to the inbox.

The form does not create a contact database or store your entries in the browser’s local storage. If an error occurs, your entries remain in the form while the page stays open. Your browser may use its own storage or recovery functions.

03 · Which data is used?

You provide the information. The submitted form data includes:

  • Name, email address and phone number as required fields.
  • Your starting point, such as your own house plans or an existing design.
  • Optionally, the selected house design, building location and description of your project.

An email also contains the usual message data, such as sender, recipient and sending time. Please provide only information needed for your building project.

You are not legally required to use this form. It cannot be submitted without the required fields. Alternatively, you can email or call us directly.

04 · What is the information used for?

GoodBau uses incoming enquiries to understand your needs, respond to you and agree on the next steps for your building project.

For specific enquiries about our services, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Other correspondence is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the appropriate handling and follow-up of your enquiry. Retention required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

The form does not sign you up to a newsletter and does not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.

05 · Who receives your message?

After sending, your message is received by the people at GoodBau responsible for your enquiry. The hosting and email providers used by GoodBau also take part in technical processing, email delivery and storage. If you write directly from your own email application instead, your email provider’s privacy notice also applies.

GoodBau uses Postmark for email delivery. The contact details and message you enter are sent to Postmark and processed there for delivery. Message data may be stored by the provider as part of its sending history. Open and link tracking are disabled for these messages. More information: Postmark privacy notice. The website uses Matomo and Cloudflare Web Analytics for general usage statistics; see “Website analytics” for details. When you visit a website, connection data such as your IP address is necessarily transmitted to the web server. This notice describes the contact function; it is not a full description of the hosting provider’s logging and processing.

06 · How long is data retained?

The form handler does not save a separate copy of your enquiry in a file or database. However, the message is processed during email delivery and retained in the recipient’s mailbox. GoodBau’s retention period depends on handling your enquiry, ongoing project coordination, statutory retention duties and evidence needed for legal claims.

Once these purposes no longer apply and no retention duty remains, the data must be deleted. For specific information about the details of your enquiry held by GoodBau, contact us at gdpr@goodbau.org . If you contact us directly by email, you manage copies in your own mailbox through your email provider.

07 · What does the website remember?

When you switch between light and dark mode, the website stores only that choice in the browser’s local storage. Your chosen appearance is then retained for later visits. This setting contains no contact details and remains stored until you change it or clear the website data in your browser.

Without a manual choice, the page follows your system setting. The contact function itself does not set cookies or save form entries in the browser’s local storage.

08 · What rights do you have?

Under the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Send your request to gdpr@goodbau.org. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority : Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at.

Further information is available from the Data Protection Authority about your rights and in the text of the GDPR.

09 · Website analytics

We use Matomo on our own analytics installation at analytics.goodbau.org to evaluate page views, traffic sources and website usage. Your browser loads the Matomo script and sends usage data to that installation. The integration records page views, downloads and outgoing links. Matomo may set cookies to recognise visits. Processing and retention of analytics data depend on the settings of our Matomo installation.

Our integration does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or message text from the contact form as analytics events. More information about the technology: Matomo.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service from Cloudflare, Inc., to evaluate website usage and loading performance. Your browser loads a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends technical measurements to Cloudflare. Reports show metrics including page views, visits, countries of origin, referring websites and device types.

According to Cloudflare, individual users are not tracked across different websites. Our integration does not send form fields such as names, email addresses, phone numbers or message text as analytics events.
